Every Wednesday, El Paso Running will utilize a point system to highlight El Paso’s top girls cross country runners.
The system is as follows: In a race of less than 150 runners, first place gets 10 points, second gets 9 points all the way down to 10th place which gets 1 point. For meets with between 150 to 300 runners, double points will be rewarded meaning 20 points for first, 19 for second all the way down to 1 point for 20th. For every additional 150 runners, another 10 runners will be included in the points.
For those who like raw times, we also list the Top 25 girls race times and the meets and dates that they occurred.

1. Eastwood: The Troopers easily won the Cathedral/Loretto Invitational Saturday at Veterans Park with 21 points. Eastwood had nine runners in the top 10 including freshman Kylie Vega who won her second individual title in 18:11.06. Sophomore Natalia Gomez was second in 18:22.18, sophomore Carlee Caraveo was third in 18:25.24, junior Venus Jimenez-Campos was fifth in 20:01.43, freshman Ava Ellison was sixth in 20:01.87, senior Sofia Perez was seventh in 20:09.53, sophomore Sienna Salas was eighth in 20:32.88, junior Karime Gonzalez was ninth in 20:45.28 and senior Madison McGuire was tenth in 20:52.66. Eastwood is racing at the Franklin Invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
2. Franklin: The Cougars did not race last week. They are hosting their own invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
3. Pebble Hills: The Spartans did not race its full varsity at the Cathedral/Loretto Invitational. They are scheduled to race at Nike South Friday night in College Station.
4. Americas: The Trailblazers did not run its varsity at the El Paso High Invitational Friday at Blackie Chesher. Sophomore Isabelle Bolly was sixth in 20:18.65 and freshman Ivanna Romero was seventh in 20:28.99. They are scheduled to race at the Franklin Invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
5. Hanks: The Knights had three runners in the top 10 to win the El Paso Invitational at Blackie Chesher with 35 points and move up one spot. Senior Ashlyn McMillan won her fourth individual title of the season with a city best 17:34.43. Junior Alyssa Fino was ninth in 20:55.93 and senior Jessica Fino was tenth in 21:18.70. Hanks will race at the McNeil Invitational Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
6. Eastlake: The Falcons did not race last week. They are scheduled to race at the Franklin Invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
7. Socorro: The Bulldogs did not race last weekend. The team is scheduled to run at the Franklin Invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
8. Coronado: The T-Birds did not race last week. Coronado will race at the Franklin Invitational Friday at Mary Keisling Park.
9. Fabens: The Wildcats move back into the top 10 after its second-place finish at the El Paso High Invitational with 53 points. Junior Alexia Martinez was second in 18:04.57 and junior Angel Quiñonez was fifth in 20:17.18. Fabens will race at the Clint/Riverside Invitational at Clint on Saturday.
10. Montwood: The Rams move down a spot after its third-place finish at the Cathedral/Lorretto Invitational. Senior Mia Hairston was fourth in 19:13.60. Montwood will race the McNeil Invitational Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
